Association honors Remodeling Excellence Award winners
The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties honored several MBA members at its annual Remodeling Excellence Awards (REX) banquet held Saturday, June 24 at the Triple Door. Of the 28 categories open for competition, Prestige Custom Builders, Inc. won three awards, including the coveted People’s Choice Award.

The Building Industry Association of Washington awarded Prestige Custom Builders with an Excellence in Remodeling Award at the state awards presentation held in Spokane, WA on June 14, 2006. The award was presented to Prestige for their residential whole house remodel over $500,000. Prestige has received over 12 BIAW awards since going into business in 1981.

Teresa Santerre, Past President of the Rainier Chamber of Commerce, was awarded the Darla S. Morton Legacy of Service Award by Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels & Chamber President Darrell Smith for outstanding vision, leadership and achievement.

In a nation-wide survey of residential remodeling contractors, Prestige Custom Builders, Inc was named one of the Top 25 Remodelers to Work For in 2004 by Professional Remodeler magazine. Professional Remodeler compared employee testimonials/surveys, benefits package, including health care, tuition reimbursement, incentive packages and leave policies in order to compile their list of the Top 25 Remodelers to Work For in 2004. Prestige Custom Builders, Inc. was distinguished as 12th out of 25.
Employees from these companies were given the chance to weigh in by taking a survey via the internet or fax. The survey, which accounted for two-thirds of the final ranking score, asked employees to rate their company based on rewards and recognition, professional development, leadership, communication, corporate culture and personal satisfaction.

"Prestige Custom Builders, Inc. received Bronze in the Best of the West Design Awards in Chicago, IL on October 8th, 2004 from the program sponsors, Professional Remodeler Magazine. Every square inch of this 1927 Brick Tudor home was upgraded to meet the current family’s needs while maintaining its existing character. A major addition to the house was below ground with a new 3,300 square foot basement that included a double garage, home theater, family room, exercise room, a wine cellar, home office and two bathrooms. The homeowners’ entire wish list! The basement portion of the Tudor home was also awarded a Silver in the Best of the West Design Awards.
The program recognizes outstanding design, quality construction and exceptional value in the projects of remodelers working in 12 Western states. The panel of judges from Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications, along with remodelers and architects, critiqued entries in five areas: visual appeal, value for price charged, workmanship, functionality, and to what extent the project met the needs of the customer.
